Grant/Endowment Recipients

Learning/Literacy Grant Recipient:
Tracey Reason—STEAM class for K-5th grade students. Using handheld microscopes, students will summarize properties of earth materials, including rocks, minerals, soils and water.

Continuing Education Grant Recipients:
Valjeaner B. Ford—Educational chaperone, sharing my education with students on this educational tour of Europe.
Carolyn Henderson—Coverage for 3 classroom teachers to attend the Building Engineers in K-5 Classroom Conference at NC McKimmon Center
Jennifer Umbarger—Attend the NC School Library Media Association Conference
Nakita Thomas—Attend the DKG International Convention in Colorado, summer 2026
Rhonda Hager—Attend the DKG International Convention 6/30/26

Groves-Little Endowment Grant Recipient:
Katelyn Long—Attending NC A&T State University to obtain teaching license

Linda Richards Endowment Grant Recipients:
Meredith Lombardi—Purchase portable net for volleyball practice
Kelsey Dettman—12 volleyball athletes and 2 coaches will attend summer camp on college campus, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, leadership and exposure to higher education.

Linda Tamblyn Endowment Grant Recipient:
Lilianna B. Jordanov—Academic writing and AI research support

​Spring Cycle Scholarship Recipients

Marilyn F Grinwis Gray Scholarship/Music Education and Elementary Education
Gray Scholarships, $3,000 each, are available to individuals currently enrolled in Music Education or Elementary Education degree programs at a recognized college or university in North Carolina.

Kaitlyn Holt—Elementary Education, East Carolin University
Azariah Ropp—Music Education, East Carolina University

Phil Harrell Memorial Scholarship Computer Science
Harrell Scholarships, $2,500 each, are available to individuals in their sophomore or junior year, currently enrolled in Computer Science degree programs at a recognized college or university in North Carolina. Need and academic good standing are criteria for this award.
